ABOUT LEO

Leo Espinosa is an award-winning illustrator and artist originally from Colombia. His vibrant, dynamic art and design aesthetics can be found in picture books, products, magazines, animated series, and galleries around the world. You may have seen his work on the pages of The New Yorker or in local bookstores and school libraries with titles from Penguin Random House, Candlewick Press, and Chronicle Books.

Leo’s passion for storytelling shines through in his collaborations with celebrated authors. With Pulitzer Prize winner Junot Díaz, Islandborn earned a Pura Belpré Honor for illustration, 2019. Leo’s debut book as author and illustrator, titled My Papa Has a Red Mustache, releases June, 2026.
